يبدأ الكتاب ببداية مملة نوعًا تكاد تصدمك من فرط التشتت مع الأسماء والأنساب والأماكن المجهولة، فالبداية كانت من شبه الجزية العربية، حيث نشأ العرب، واستفاض الكاتب بعض الشيء في عرض ما يشبه شجرة العائلة الخاصة بنسل العرب من البداية وصولًا لمولد الرسول ﷺ، كانت بداية مقلقة بالنسبة لي وشعرت بحالة من: لا يهمني كل هذا سيدي الكاتب، أريد أن أقرأ عن الحبيب وسيرته، ما بالي بأقوام العرب وطوائفهم الآن؟، ولكن، لأن الكتاب هو " بحث" في السيرة فكان من الضروري أن أتفهم هذه المقدمة وأتحملها وصولًا لهدفي المنشود، والذي لم يتأخر كثيرًا الحمد لله وبدأت سيرة الرسول ﷺ مع الصفحة الخمسين، فبدأت أعتدل في جلستي، وأشحذ ذهني، وقلت بسم الله..
فعموماً قرأته كأول كتاب للسيرة وقد أعطاني لمحة شاملة عن حياة الحبيب وعن حال الأمم حين قدومه فالحمدلله الذي وفقني وأعانني على قرائته
أود الاعتذار من كتاب "الرحيق المختوم" اعتذاراً شديداً حزيناً "أنا آسفة .. آسفة ولن أعيدها مرةً أخرى"
أذهلني أن سبب هذه التحفة..مسابقة أقامتها رابطة العالم الإسلامي .. فكانت حصيلتها أن فاز الشيخ صفي الرحمن المباركفوري من الهند بالجائزة الأولى لرائعته الرحيق المختوم .
